However, here I sit in front of my computer 12 weeks pregnant, somewhat nauseated, and in need of a potty-break (which occurs every hour on the hour), writing a blog about "Numero Quatro". To say that I am shocked would be an understatement, and it has taken several weeks to come to grips with this reality. Many have asked how I found out that I was pregnant, so here is a quick play-by-play of what went down.

I was in the middle of one of my night-shift work days, talking with a co-worker about how "I would swear I was pregnant, had Craig not had a vasectomy". I was getting up several times a night to use the restroom, I was incredibly tired, and then of course, I was several weeks "late". I was in complete denial obviously, because how in the world does a vasectomy fail? (Well it fails when the Lord has other plans for your life.) So my friend said, and I quote, "just go take a test, because if this is going to happen to anyone, it would be you". Sure enough, I no more dipped the stick, and two lines appear. What does a normal, calm, totally sane person do when that happens? Well you sit in the bathroom floor and hyperventilate until your hands begin to feel numb, then you pull yourself together enough to get up, walk out the door, walk to that friend, and almost throw-up in the trash can beside you. No lie, it happened!!! Then you give another urine sample, and a blood sample only to get the same results. Then, the shock hits in full force and you have to drive home at 2 o'clock in the morning, wake your sleeping Husband, and punch him in the face. (OK, so that didn't happen) You immediately tell him the good news while holding back sobs, and He buries his head in his hands on the end of the bed and asks you when your going to tell him this is all a joke. That' s when I punched Him in the face :) (well I should have anyway) After a couple of hours of laying in bed beside each other in complete silence, you fall asleep. That is what happens if your sane. Who knows what would happen if your not.

The very next day I called my OB and was sent in for blood work, which showed that I was approximately 7-8 weeks pregnant. Of course I was. Why wouldn't I be? Craig did have a vasectomy after all!!! Then I had an ultrasound, and sure enough, there was that tiny little heartbeat that will melt a Mommas heart. I knew from day one that the Lord had ordained this child, and that He/She was planted by our Heavenly Father in my womb for a reason, but the day that I was able to see my baby's heartbeat was the day that I was able to rest in God's promise that He will never give me more than I can handle. Although I was shocked, (and to be honest, I still am) I am blessed to be found worthy of raising another child. He has given Craig and I a gift that I am so thankful for.

I will need a bigger home, and I would like a bigger car, and of course, there is that dang Trinity school tuition that will most definitely increase, but for now, I will trust in Christ. He holds the future. He holds my life in the very palm of His hand. And He holds this child.

Psalms 127:3-4
Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are son's born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-28744642512358458272010-07-12T01:42:00.000-07:002010-07-12T02:08:47.507-07:00What A SummerIt's been forever!!! Cole is 1 month away from turning ONE! I can't believe that it has almost been a year since he was born. Oh how he has changed. From being so tiny and in the NICU, to a quite large 23 pounder. His huge blue eyes and great big smile gets this little man pretty much everything he wants. He loves his Mamma, but continually says Dadda. He has an incredible love for his Big Brother and Sister. He thinks his Brother is the funniest thing he has ever seen, and it takes nothing more than Mason walking into the room to get a laugh out of him. He's mastered the art of crawling, and if I'm not careful, He will find a way to get to the basement stairs. I try to keep the door shut, but there have been several times I have caught him right before heading head first down the stairs. He's pretty sneaky! He's very sweet, and loves to give hugs. Easy going should be his first name, and crying isn't something that he does much of. (unless of course He's hungry. The boy loves to eat) I could write a book about this sweet boy I think, but I will save that for his 1 year post.

This is him with food all over his face. Like I said, He loves to eat.

I didn't want to leave Mason and Reece out of the mix, so I posted a few pics of these crazy rascals as well. I love my kiddos so much, and wouldn't trade a minute of my time with them. My very favorite Holiday. Spending time with family, eating loads of sweats, and of course The Gifts! All of these things, I look forward to each year. This year, my feelings are the same. I cannot wait to spend time with our families, gain five pounds, and open the amazing gifts. However, my heart boasts with excitement for different reasons as well this season.

For those of you who have grown up "churched" as I like to call it, have heard many times that "Jesus is the reason for the season". Not a year goes by that I don't see Nativity scenes scattered throughout the yards of Lubbock Texas. Several small ones are even scattered throughout my home. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard or read the Christmas story. It all becomes so familiar! JUST another nativity scene, JUST another Sunday sermon about the birth of Jesus, JUST another Christmas with our families, exchanging gifts. With all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, I tend to forget what I truly should be celebrating. This year has been no exception. I've been busy decorating, buying gifts, wrapping, and of course the never ending tasks of daily life. My hearts aches at how selfish my flesh can be. I want to make this season all about me. Making sure my house looks festive, making sure I get "My Christmas List" out to the proper people (I.E. My Mom and Mother in Law), making sure I completely spoil my kids with more gifts than they can imagine, and my selfish list goes on.

The Lord has been working on my heart this year. He has begun a work in me that I am not sure I can even explain right now. I read the Christmas story, and feel things that I have never felt before. I have always known the "The reason for the Season", but have never truly embraced the fact that Jesus, My Savior who was sent to earth to die for My sins, was born in a manger. I have heard it a million times, but never truly understood the impact of it all.

I will open gifts with my family this year, and I will probably gain a few pounds from all the treats I will have, but the one thing that I will do my best not to take for granted, is God's gift to me,....His Son.

Matthew 1:21 "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."

Matthew 1:23 "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL", which translated means "GOD WITH US."

I pray that everyone has a blessed Christmas, and may you all remember, while you gather with family and friends, why you are celebrating in the first place.

RachelRachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-44012559342328030382009-10-22T10:21:00.000-07:002009-10-22T11:26:50.198-07:00So Many Blessings! We have had a lot going on the last few months. (since pictures are what everyone wants to see anyways) We have been very busy the last two months. Building a house, working part-time and running around with three kids has been VERY time consuming. The kids are great, work is not so much, and the house is complete! Crazy times.......

This is my new niece Kennedi and her huge cousin Cole
This is one of many pictures of Reece and Cole. I am only working part-time now, so I can spend much more time with my little "kiddie-catastrophes". Mason, as some of you may know turned four in April, and he now thinks that He rules the Roost. Reece is just as motherly as ever, to both Mason and Cole, and she tends to boss EVERYONE around. I love that little girl soooo much. And then of course, there's Cole. He is happy(most of the time) and healthy. He is three months old, and is catching up really fast. He just moved out of newborn clothes and into 0-3 months, so we are really excited about that. I have a feeling that he will be moving up to 3-6 months very soon. My guess is that he weighs close to 12lbs, which is enormous compared to his 5lbs at birth.

We haven't done just a ton of traveling yet. Cole and I went on a shopping trip to Dallas, and Mom and Dad took all of us (6 adults, 6 kids) to San Antonio last month. We went to Sea World, which was awesome, because it was during the whole Swine Flu scare, and there was nobody there. We rode all the rides and didn't even have to get off because there was no one else in line to ride. We stayed at a really cool Hotel/Spa, called the Hyatt Regency Hilltop Resort and Spa, and the kids had a blast. They had amazing pools and a lazy river. As far as for the plans for the rest of the summer, we leave for our yearly lake trip in 2 weeks, and we are going on a family vacation to Florida for a week in September with the Roberson clan. Craig and I are also going to go on a belated anniversary trip. Due to Cole being born early, we were unable to take a trip. I am hoping for Hawaii, but Craig may have other plans.

Our house is almost finished. We are hoping to move in at the end of this month. Our cabinets will be installed next week, and after that, we just need paint and flooring.

Anyways, that is all that I can think of for now. I'm sure I have missed something, but oh well, I will post again in a month or two. (haha) Here are a few pictures of the last few weeks. Cole and His big eyes.

Craig just getting home from work.

Craig picking Cole up, only to find that he had poop running out of his diaper. Cole had been home for 11 days, and started getting a cold, which in turn caused him to have severe apnea. His alarm started going off a lot on Saturday, and progressively worsened early Sunday morning. It was all that I could do to stimulate him to take a breath. Craig and I took him to the Childrens Emergency room, and He was admitted to the Pediatric ICU. He had a really hard day on Sunday, and was almost intubated. That means that they would have had to put a tube into his lungs to breath for him. He is on multiple medications, to help stimulate him to take a breath, but is doing much better today. Please pray that the Lord continues to heal his tiny body, so that he can come home and play with his brother ans sister. I will keep you all updated!Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-76068095786901785222009-03-08T17:09:00.000-07:002009-03-08T17:31:58.853-07:00He's Home!Cole is Home! I have A TON of pictures that I need to post, and I will do it as soon as I have a little time. Thank you all for your prayers. He is healthy and doing great. The other two however, are both running fever and coughing. They have to go see the Doctor tommorrow.Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-2496483278183067922009-03-02T14:49:00.000-08:002009-03-02T14:54:41.708-08:00UPDATE!Cole is still in NICU, but eating much better. He can actually finish a bottle without having to be tube fed. His Doctor is going to send him home on an apnea monitor, not because he is having a lot of apnea, but more for my piece of mind. She also said that as long as he continues to eat like he has been, he will go home sometime this week. Yay! He has passed all the tests that he needs to pass before we can come home, except for the fact that he hasn't figured out how to eat. He eats small amounts from the bottle, and has to be tube fed the rest. Hopefully he will pick up on it pretty quickly, being that that is all that he has to do before we can come home. He lost some weight right after birth, as all babies do, but is now back up to 5lbs 6oz. He is so sweet, and he looks exactly like Mason. Please continue to pray that he picks up on the feeding thing pretty quickly, so that he can come home. HaHa! I have never let anyone take pictures of me while I have been pregnant, but since this is the last time I will ever be pregnant, I figured I would let it happen. Theses pictures were taken today at my Mom and Dad's house and hopefully in a week or two from this very day, I will be holding our third child.

This is my sister Aaron's daughter Kellyn.

This is my sister Sarah's daughter Kambell.

And this is me and our third child. Maybe I am having a basketball! Only one more week to go!

So, I have had a few pregnancy wows the last few weeks. It all started around 30 weeks, when I started having premature contractions. When I went to the Doctor, we found that I was dilated to a 2, so he sent me to a specialist. While there, we learned that I was having contractions every 5-7 minutes. I was placed in the hospital for a while in order to get the contractions under control, and then sent home on multiple medications. I have to see the specialist every week, and my OB every other week, which is tiring, but worth it if it means having a healthy baby Boy/Girl. I see the specialist again in the morning, and there we will do another ultrasound and non-stress test to see how the baby is reacting to the contractions, which by the way I am having more often. So, after tomorrow, he will schedule an amniocentesis, and if the baby's lungs arm mature, he is going to take me off the medications and just let the baby come, which means probably around my birthday, March 6th. I cannot wait to find out what we are having, and to meet my sweet baby!

Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-83310577170276411772009-02-05T13:13:00.000-08:002009-02-05T13:21:43.488-08:00Baby Names!Several of you have asked what names we have picked out for our new Boy/Girl. Because we have gone with Family names for both of our kids, we are going to once again use a family name for this baby. Cole is Craig's Mom's maiden name, so if it is a boy, his name will be Ethan Cole, but he will go by Cole. And if it is a girl, her name will be Blakely Cole, but we will call her Blake. I have a thing with boy names for girls. However, I really think this is a boy, so more than likely the name is Ethan Cole. I guess we will see soon enough. If I don't stop having all of these contractions, we may see sooner than later. I am however trying my hardest to stay off my feet like the Doctor instructed me to do, but it's tough when you have two kids. I'll keep you all updated!Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-76977305038243207142009-01-30T17:23:00.000-08:002009-01-30T19:14:15.354-08:00Yay For My Mom's Computer!Well I was finally able to upload a few pictures of our house and our kids, thanks to my Mom's computer. They are in no particuler order, because I really have no idea how to change the order that I upload them in. Hope you all enjoy, and I am sorry that there are so many.

This is a picture of how my kids look on a daily basis. People always comment on how Reece and Mason are always so put together, with there clothes ironed and their hair fixed. It's been rough. I have so many pictures that I need to post and no way to post them. I guess I could go up to Craig's office and use his brand new Mac, but I have no idea how to use the thing. So, sorry that I have no pictures to show, but here is an update on what has been going on.

As far as the pregnancy goes, everything, well almost everything, is okay. I have been having contractions for the last few weeks, so on Monday, the Dr checked me and I was dilated to a 2! Since I am only 31 weeks, we really need to try and keep this baby from coming out for at least 5-6 more weeks. I am now on light duty at work, and will be going part-time in 3 weeks. I am also taking this medication called Terbutaline to help slow them down. So far the medication has helped, however, it hasn't completely stopped them. The medication is awful! It makes me shaky and it causes my heart to beat really fast. The baby however is doing great. The ultrasound showed the baby to weigh about 3 1/2 pounds, which is pretty big for 30 weeks, (that's what I was when I had it done). That would be my husbands fault. He tends to make Big Babies.

The house is finally coming along! We have a basement, and this morning they will start framing it out. The concrete guys are also starting today on the slab, which means that plumbing and the rest of the frame work will begin at the first of next week. It has been a long time coming, so it is so nice to have finally gotten it started. The estimated move-in month is June, but good weather could mean a May move-in date. The baby will already be here of course, so the sooner the house is ready, the better.

Craig is unbelievably busy at work, so I don't get to see him as much as I would like to, but being busy is good when you own your business, so I won't complain. Mason and Reece are both getting over ear infections and sinus infections, which was a load of fun for everyone involved. Other than that, they have been great. The weather has been so nice the last few days, which has meant lots of jumping on the trampoline and bike riding, and I have been slowly going through the kids closets, and taking things to Goodwill. It feels so good to be clutter free.

I guess that is about it for now. I will try and post pictures of the kids and the house as soon as I either get a computer or I can talk Craig into downloading them for me on his computer. My guess is that it will have to wait until I get a new computer.Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-59189276061819707392009-01-01T04:29:00.000-08:002009-01-01T04:31:13.806-08:00HAPPY NEW YEAR!Here's my first post of 2009! Yeah!!!!! I would post a picture of myself, but I am not really fond of the way that I look when I'm pregnant, so no pictures have been taken. Anyways, I don't have much to post, so bye bye for now.

P.S. We should be breaking ground on our new house in the next 2 weeks, so stay tuned for pictures!Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-26147073045768574322008-12-02T18:42:00.000-08:002008-12-02T22:50:12.824-08:00My Baby is Two!!!It is so hard to believe that Reece turned two on the friday after Thanksgiving. We are having her birthday party on the 6th at her Sassy and Pa's house. She just keeps singing Happy Birthday to herself over and over. It is the sweetest thing!
I cannot tell you how much she means to her Dad and I, as well as her extended family. She is so happy and fun to be around. She is always laughing! I couldn't ask for a better daughter. She is truly a blessing to our family.
There are so many things that I love about her, but a few of my favorites are:

1. I love the way that she pats my back when she hugs me
2. I love her HUGE brown eyes
3. I love how she calls her brother "Mase" instead of Mason
4. I love the way she sings herself to sleep, with songs that she has made-up herself.
5. I love her passion for shoes! (a girl after my own heart)
6. I love that she loves her Daddy more than anyone else.
7. I love that she thinks her brother hung the moon.
8. I love that she kisses my stomach and says "hi sister"
9. I love that she is so independent!
10. I LOVE THAT THE LORD CHOSE TO BLESS ME WITH SUCH A PRESCIOUS GIFT!

I love you sweet girl, and I hope that these last two years has been just as great for you as they have been for your Daddy and I. Happy Birthday!Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-87547757206354820592008-11-20T21:24:00.000-08:002008-11-20T21:55:33.056-08:00It Has To Be a Boy!So we had a sonogram this morning, and everything was great. Nothing was out of the ordinary! His/Her heart looked good, brain looked good, he/she had 2 kidneys, a bladder, a HEART! The baby measured a week ahead of our due date, amniotic fluid levels were normal, and so on. So, what I am trying to say is the baby is very healthy, and the baby looks exactly like Mason! They did a 4-D ultrasound of the face, and I almost fell off the table. This child looks so much like Mason did when he was born. I looked back at our 3-D sonogram pictures of Mason, and they look just alike.
It's a little weird to think about what your kids will look like. Will it look like the other two? Will it look completely different? And I have to admit, although I thought at the time that he was the cutest thing ever, Mason was not the best looking kid when he was born. He quickly changed from that scrawny, frail looking newborn into a chubby, healthy looking baby, but those first few days were iffy! JK!
Even though we didn't find out the sex of our baby, everything about it, the movements, the face, everything, made me think BOY! I am telling you all, that this baby has to be boy. I guess there is a 50/50 chance, so we will see in about 15 weeks! Sorry that I couldn't post ultrasound pictures, but the disk drive is malfunctioning on the laptop. (I'm praying for a new Apple computer for Christmas!)Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042139637751621438.post-4785798326121587302008-10-22T19:48:00.000-07:002008-10-22T21:30:40.191-07:00Numero TresWell, I am now two weeks away from being half way through my pregnancy. I am 18 weeks tomorrow, which for me, could mean that I am already half way there. Mason busted out at 37 weeks, and Reece, just short of 36 weeks. So in reality, I could be at the half way point as we speak. He/She moves non stop, which is great, because if it weren't for the moving, I would forget that I was even pregnant. It's sad, but I am so busy with the other two that I don't have time to think about anything else. Oh, just kidding, I do think about the fact that I am extremely tired, all the time!
It has been very busy at my house with Mason in school every Tuesday and Thursday, and Miss Reece running around all over the place. Her favorite past time is singing to her babies. Sometimes the songs are made-up and sometimes they are real songs. My favorites are those that come from her heart. She talks so clearly. Sometimes I feel like I am talking to a little women. She is learning her colors, and can get through most of the alphabet without a problem. Sometimes at night when she is going to bed, I can hear her singing them over the monitor. And her greatest accomplishment as of lately, is the fact that she has potty trained herself. She still has the occasional accident, but hey, she's not even 2 yet. She loves her Daddy with everything that she has, and the same can be said for Him. She is a sweet little girl, with a big attitude, and I couldn't ask for a better daughter.
Mason has become a little man. He can recognize almost every letter in the alphabet, which is fun, because we can be driving, and if he sees a stop sign, he yells, "Mom, that's an "S"a"T" and a "P" He can spell his name, recognize it, and lately has been trying to write it. He loves sports, and if you meet him, he will be sure to let you know that he is going to play football when he grows-up. He looks forward to being "as big as Daddy", and he can't wait to be 4 like Kaden.(His Best Buddie/Cousin) He is in awe of the fact that Jesus lives in our hearts, and he asks me frequently why he can't see Him. The other day I heard him tell his sister not to hit him because "Jesus can see you, and it isn't nice to hit". He talks often of how Jesus died on the cross for us, and how "nice" it was for Him to do that for us. He has such a sweet spirit, and it weren't for the fact that he has a bit of OCD, he throws fits every once in a while, and he's human, he would be perfect!

P.S. It has flown by! When you are busy with two other kiddos, you often forget that you are even pregnant, or at least that's how it's been with me. That fact makes me really sad, being that this is the last time I will be pregnant. (unless the Lord has other plans, and tying my tubes doesn't work) I want so badly to enjoy this time, but it is hard when I am so busy with being a Wife/Mom, and working a full time job.

Anyway, enough of my sob story. My life is great, and I can't wait to meet my Son or Daughter (my guess is daughter, but we won't know that until He/She is born)

P.S. My sweet baby girl isn't a baby anymore! In two short months, she will be 2!Rachel Robersonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02051651016768347217noreply@blogger.com1
